Maria barros aka Gatasanta est une dj originaire de Bogotá, elle commence à mixer en 2001 lors de son arrivée à Paris, son parcours musical se professionnalise à partir de 2006, elle co-organise avec Syrob des soirées au Nouveau Casino y programmant les Novamen, Luke Eargoggle, VCS2600. Sa réputation et ses qualités de dj l’amènent à être bookée dans des clubs hors des frontières hexagonales: Bruxelles, Berlin, Vienne, Zurich, Madrid, Barcelone, au festival EXIT en Serbie, au Noize Electro Festival avec toute la clique Intergalactic FM et ses affiliés (Legowelt, David Vunk, Rude 66, Orgue Electronique, Minimal Rome, Baz Reznik…). Installée à Barcelone elle est désormais associée avec Art Vega, co-fondateur du label autrichien Pomelo sur lequel elle collabore également, ensemble ils montent la structure Shaddock Records et signent des artistes comme JTC, Atom™, Tin man, Hercules & Love Affair vs. Haze-Factory, Kassem Mosse, Dj Stingray. La prochaine sortie annoncée fin mai sur Shaddock sera l’oeuvre de l’un des inspirateurs du jakbeat D Marc Cantu – une pièce progressive fortement imprégnée de science fiction qui s’intitulera Zone 4… En parallèle, à l’occasion de ses 20 ans d’existence Pomelo prépare une compilation qui regroupera des artistes qui ont marqué le label.
Maria barros aka Gatasanta is a dj from Bogotá, she starts mixing in 2001 after moving to paris, from 2006 she gets involved in more professionals projects, and co-organize parties with Syrob at Le Nouveau Casino programming Novamen, Luke Eargoggle, VCS2600. Her dj skills as well her reputation lead her to be booked in various venues all over Europe: Brussels, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, Madrid, Barcelona, Exit Festival in Serbia, Noize Electro Festival alongside Intergalactic IFM crew (Legowelt, David Vunk, Rude 66, Orgue Electronique, Minimal Rome, Baz Reznik…). Now living in Barcelona, and associated with Art Vega, co-founder of austrian-based label Pomelo on which she also collaborates, together they create Shaddock Records and signs artists like JTC, Atom™, Tin man, Hercules & Love Affair vs. Haze-Factory, Kassem Mosse, Dj Stingray. The next release is announced for may with one of the inspirators of “jakbeat” spirit: D Marc Cantu, who will sign Zone 4 a four-tracker of progressive music with a sci-fi mood… In parallel, Pomelo will celebrate its 20 years with the release of a compilation featuring the most influents artists of the label.
