LYO#041 / Sneaker DJ (Uncanny Valley)

Sneaker DJ

Various ?– Uncanny Valley 004Sneaker DJ from Dresden first fell in love with Detroit and Chicago, but furthermore with the obscure italo, new wave and minimal-synth gems that make his productions, dj sets and edits (as Dunkeltier, his particular alias for edits) special. The former student of fine arts travels extensively or shuttles between his part-time hometowns Dresden, Jena and Berlin. Sneaker has been releasing tracks for 10 years now but gained global public attention in 2011 when You Think You Think on Uncanny Valley got played in sets of various big players of the league such as Daniel Bell, TLR, Cassius, Traxx or Deetron and was especially featured on the FabricLive CD of Daniel Avery. In 2012 a remix of the 80s Belgian minimal synth band Twilight Ritual saw the light of day on white vinyl on Madrid based Frigio Records followed by the Francotirador remix of industrial pioneers Esplendor Geométrico in 2013 and a total rework of Absolute Body Control Tanzmusik on the Macadam Mambo Edits label from Lyon last year. After the collaboration Heteronomous on Jacob Korn‘s debut album in 2012 (featured in Mano Le Tough‘s Boiler Room) it was time for the single EP Java/Sumatra in the summer 2013 on Uncanny Valley. Specialized in edits of dance (un)classics he’s one of the heads behind the new label Rat Life. As one third of Serial Error along with Korn and Credit 00 he contributed to the Our Beat Is Still New series on Red D’s We Play House label from Belgium. 2015 promises to be prolific as EPs on Lunatic, Rat Life, Lux Rec & Frigio Records are soon to be unveiled. For all the freaks in France, be sure to check him out if you’re around, he’ll be playing March 26th and 27th at Terminal in Lyon and 101 in Clermont-Ferrand ! For this LYO exclusive mix, expect a splendid journey of an early 90’s ny-house music feel, enjoy !
