Flemming Dalum, un nom devenu mythique, est aussi appelé “ King of the cut “. Débutant son initiation musicale très jeune, il est alors fasciné par les synthétiseurs analogiques, s’achète un Korg Polysix et monte son propre groupe en 1982. Il se découvre un don pour le mixage mélangeant avec réussite sons de synthés et vinyls créant son propre univers musical. Utilisant sampler, tables de mixage, synthés et enregistreur cassette, ses premiers mixes paraissent en 1983. Des mixes si riches et précis qui lui donneront bientôt son légendaire pseudo ” King of the cut “. Cette même année, il tombe sur Koto – Chinese Revenge qui le mènera dans un univers musical en symbiose avec le sien où les synthés et l’électronique sont au coeur de l’action. Cette nouvelle passion attisée par la découverte de Koto l’emmène vers son premier voyage à Milan chez Il Discotto, Discomagic, Merak etc pour approfondir le phénomène italo. Les années suivantes voient Flemming visiter les distributeurs italiens 11 fois justifiant ainsi sa réputation incontestée d’être parmi les des plus grands collectionneurs d’italo au monde. Au fil des années il remplace ses synthés par des ordinateurs et outils plus adaptés à son désir pressant de toujours améliorer ses mixes afin de perpétuer l’esprit italo. Cette obsession du détail est une des raisons primordiales de la réputation progressivement légendaire des mixes du Danois. En parallèle des mixes il a sorti ces dernières années une multitude de morceaux en coproductions avec Fred Ventura ou Kid Machine et de brillants remixs sur des labels aussi variés que Radio Cosmos, Disco Modernism, Bordello A Parigi, Cyber Dance, Moustache records, Red Laser, Flight Recorder ou Flexx maintenant un activisme incessant au service de l’italo et autres genres affiliés. Flemming est vraiment un ” Monsieur ” et il va sans dire qu’on est très heureux de l’accueillir pour ce mix exclusif Les Yeux Orange!
Flemming Dalum a name that shouldn’t need any introduction is also known as ” King of the cut “. Discovering his musical journey at an early age, he started experimenting with records and discovered a natural talent for mixing and blending synths with records, creating his own unique world of sound, the true world of mixing.
With sampler, echomachine, decks, synths and a beloved cassette recorder, the first true mixes came out of his studio already in 1983. Mixes with so much detail, soon giving him the legendary name ” King of the cut “. In the same year, 1983, Flemming stumbled across Koto – Chinese Revenge, a discovery that should soon lead Flemming into a brave new world matching his own, with synths and electronics being the heart of the music. The passion became strong and shortly after the Koto discovery, brought him to his first trip to Milan, Il Discotto, Discomagic, Merak etc… to investigate the Italo phenomenon in detail. The following years Flemming visited the italian distributors 11 times which later proves to be one of the major reasons to the fact that he has one of the worlds most complete collections of Italo and Disco. Through the years, the synths has been replaced with computers and equipment matching the urge for mixing. Something that has kept the true Italo spirit alive and made Flemming Dalum a legend in mixing today. Aside from his mixes he released those last years a whole lot of coproductions with artists Kid Machine or Fred Ventura and brilliant remixes on labels such as Radio Cosmos, Disco Modernism, Bordello A Parigi, Cyber Dance, Moustache Records, Red Laser, Flight Recorder, Flexx that keeps him busy on a daily basis. Flemming is the man and we’re really happy to have it on Les Yeux Orange.
