LYO#040 / Coyote (Is It Balearic?)

Coyote

Ils mettent en place le label Is It Balearic?

Magic WandCoyote is the name of a UK based duo of DJs and producers Timm Sure and Ampo, deeply rooted in the balearic scene. After spending the 90’s making regular DJ appearances in some of Britain’s most influential nightclubs and at events such as Andrew Weatherall‘s Sabresonic parties, Coyote officially came into being in 2004, when Timm and Ampo started making music together. They set up the Is It Balearic? Recordings imprint in 2006, with a view to releasing their own material, the first EPs solding out very quickly. They have since branched out into releasing music from names such as Tiago, Max Essa, Justin Robertson and Social Disco Club amongst many others, as well as hosting remixes from Aeroplane, Rune Lindbaek, Prins Thomas, The Beat Broker, Joe’s Bakery and the list goes on. The latest offering from the label is the excellent Crack In The Sky EP by Clandestino, which was featured in our January 2015 Radio Show. Coyote have also released original material on a huge array of labels including International Feel, Claremont 56, Nang Records, Porn Wax, and Aficionado Recordings, while also producing remixes for artists such as Soft Rocks, Runaway, José Padilla, Connan Mockasin, and The Backwoods to name but a few. Aside from Is It Balearic?, they also run the Magic Wand outlet, allowing them to release quality edits, some of them now hard to find and going for silly prices on Discogs. This week, we’re very pleased to give you LYO’s 40th exclusive mix by Coyote, offering a fine selection of balearic beats, deep house cuts and acid grooves.
